Suwan Golf & Country Club Review: Part 1

 Hello.

This is Mr. Road.

This is the first review of Thai golf course in English website of People N Golf.

Suwan Golf & Country Club invited People N Golf as the one of the representative agent to play at their golf course on 10 November, 2025.
Overall, I had a fantastic round and a great meal.

When the golf course describe themselves as cost-effective, it may give the impression that it is a lower-class golf course.
However, this is one of the golf courses with a very high level of satisfaction,
to the point that it is no exaggeration to say that
the golf course grade is better than Thana City or Riverdale Golf Courses around Bangkok. I would even say that it even par up with Lotus Valley.

The photo shown below is the entrance to the golf course.
You go up to the second floor on the left to find the backdrop area
where the caddies await.

Upon entering the 2nd floor entrance,
you can check in at the pro shop shown in the photo
with your PNG confirmation voucher.

Inside of Pro shop,
there is a reception on the left side of the door.

Once you have completed check-in,
you can go down to the first floor, get ready in the locker room, and then come out.

There is a sauna but I later found out that
they also have a jacuzzi which I didn't find at first.

The Suwan Restaurant was also clean and very spacious.
I enjoyed a complimentary meal after our round.
The pizza that were provided was delicious,
nearly as good as the ones served at a pizza specialized restaurants.

The last time I played a round at Suwan was about 8 or 9 years ago and I don't think the locker rooms were this clean before.

They have renovated since, so that might be the reason for its cleanliness.

There used to be a hot tub with the sauna here,

but it looks like they took out the hot tub.

I always thought the food at golf courses was delicious
because we ate after sweating and showering after 18 holes.

The food at Suwan Golf Course was delicious even before we started played. 😊

Now, let's head down to the golf course and start our round.

I don't think I've ever started a round this full, and I suddenly remembered that you should eat 2-3 hours before a round. As someone who never had high expectations for their golf score, I'm at least feeling happy to be a well-fed golfer.

[Below photo]

The black sign on the left reads today's date, tee-off start time at 6:08, green speed of 10.2, and temperature at 24-31°C or 75-91°F.
(You can see this by enlarging the photo.)

If the green speed is 10.2, it's a little fast.
It seems like it's been over 2 months since I putted.

Now, shall we head to the golf course?

First, here's the scorecard. (The photo below is from golf007.com.)

Hole 1 is a par 4, a straight course that curves slightly.
There is a water hazard on the left and several bunkers on the right
from the middle of the fairway to near the green.

This is the first hole, seen from behind the green. The green was reportedly cored and sanded about seven days ago. Despite this, the green speed was over 10, so putting for 18 holes was almost as fast as a regular green. The ball rolled well, too well that it then proceeded to avoid the hole by going left and right.

I felt the green speeds varied on about two or three holes, but other than that, the greens remained relatively consistent throughout the 18 holes. They even accelerated on downhill sections. As someone who haven't been playing golf often, I focused on getting the ball to the hole, trying to minimize to three putts.

The second hole is already a par 5.
If you can get across the water and onto the fairway,
the green isn't too difficult.

The fairway is quite wide and you can tee off without any mental strain,
as you just need to clear the water hazard on the left side,
which is about 160 to 200 yards away.

The 3rd hole is a par 3 hole with a fairway that curves to the left around the lake and a green protected by a bunker at the back.

I skipped hole 3 because there was a group of five ahead of me.

The caddie checked with the golf course about returning to the hole,
but they said we were not allowed to come back.

Hole 4, par 4.
This hole also has a water hazard that runs under the front bridge and extends wide to the right. The tree in the middle of the fairway makes this hole look impressive.

I didn't notice it during the round,
but the first few holes featured numerous water hazards, much like the Windmill Golf Course near Bangkok.

Below is the green, bunker, and fairway, visible from behind the 4th hole green.

Looking straight from behind the green, the fairway curves significantly and the green is very long. A wood would likely make for a nice climb.

The 5th hole is already the second par 5.

Yes, the lake on the right

Fortunately, my tee shot landed right in front of the hazard.

But when I picked up a wood, I was once again engulfed with extreme desire that messed up my swing, a chronic problem that I always come across. These days, I'm fine with long irons, but when I pick up a wood or hybrid, I inevitably miss one shot out of two or three.

This is hole number 6. It feels a bit like Siam Waterside.

The 7th hole had a mediocre tee shot, so I'll just show you a photo after the green.

This is the halfway house between the 7th and 8th holes. The prices for water and other beverages are a bit on the high side.

Yes, judging by the prices in the halfway house, Suwan Golf Course is definitely not mid-level, but rather a top-tier or semi-prestigious golf course.

The 8th hole is a par 4. If you cross the water, more water will appear in front of the green

This is the 9th hole. Yes, there isn't a single hole on the first 9 that doesn't have a water hazard.

The photo above was taken from behind the blue tee, and the photo below was taken from the white tee. Even though it's clearly the same hole, it feels like a completely different course depending on the tee. Or is it just me?

Yes, I also take photos of the blue or black tees because when I go there,
I can clearly tell the differences from the white tee.
It's not just the 10-30 yard difference in distance,
but the overall contrasting landscape and the difficulty of aiming for tee shot.

A person who used to play single tees once told me that
a single tee from the white tee isn't really a single tee.
However, as I get older and my distances get shorter, I'm slowly moving further and further away from single tees

A hazard runs across the middle of the fairway,
and this hazard extends to the green.
