Suwan Golf & Country Club Review: Part 2

 After completing the first 9 holes,

it's now time for the tee shot on the 10th hole.

Yes. There's no visible water hazard on the 10th hole. 

The 11th hole is a 509-yard par 5. The par 5s on the back nine are all over 500 yards, and the final 18th hole, a par 5, is a free 569-yard hole.

Again, compare the aiming from the blue tee above and the white tee below

It looks far in the photo, but the pressure you feel when teeing off from the blue tee is much greater than you might think.

Hole 12, par 3, white, 140 yards (there was no difference in white on the scorecard, but the blue tee's written distance was 159 yards, when it really was 151 yards)

Hole 13, Par 4, White, 376 yards

Out-of-bounds (OB) is on the left, and hitting the ball past the hazard into a house will result in a hefty penalty. So be sure to aim your tee shot to the right, close to the hazard.

The 14th hole is a simple 351-yard short hole (white), but it features a devastating dogleg left.

If you can go far, go left!

My ball was pushed to the right and landed in front of the bunker. 😁

If you look at the photo below, you can see that the right side is significantly farther from the green.

A quick look at the photo below, taken from behind the green, will help you understand. The fairway leading to the green is very narrow and dogleg-shaped, making it extremely difficult to cut through.

Looking at the photo above, I'm reminded of the zigzag par 5 hole at the Muang Kaew Golf Course in Bangkok (I can't remember which hole it is), where the caddy signals with a flag and you tee off across the roof of a tunnel over the road to the right.

Hole 15, par 4, white, 384 yards

The surrounding obstacles make it a bit difficult to attack the green.

Halfway house next to the 16th hole

16th hole, par 3, white, 152 yards

17th hole, par 4, white, 344 yards

It's a short par 4, but the green is not easy to attack.

The bridge and scenery leading from the 17th hole to the 18th hole were truly impressive. I clearly remember the scenery from when I played a round here a long time ago, it really was that unforgettable.

Now, on to the final hole of the 18th hole. The toughest handicap hole, the par 5 White, is 569 yards.

When I finally grabbed the wood, the ball kept going left or right, no straight.

The fairway is on the right 

The ball went through the trees and went to the right.

Yes, as you can see in the photo, if you want to attack the green, the ball can't go to the right. ^^

And it looks like it went into the bunker in front of the green, but I can't see my ball.

This is the final 18th green.

This hole reminded me of the importance of hitting lightly, without worrying about distance (I still ended up with a bogey).

Suwan Golf Course is approximately 1 hour from Silom~Sathon area and 70 minutes from Sukhumvit area.

My golf swing has been a mess since the Covid pandemic and I still haven't been able to recover yet. So that is why I'm starting over to the basics and rebuild my form slowly and gradually with persistence. I hope I could see myself improving soon.
